Dplus KIA secured a dominant victory over Team BDS, knocking them out of the 2023 League of Legends World Championship. Led by Canyon’s exceptional performance, the Korean team outplayed their European opponents in a best-of-three series on October 23.
Team BDS and Dplus KIA were both facing elimination after being in the 0-2 bracket. However, it was Dplus KIA who emerged victorious, much to the delight of the home crowd. They displayed superior gameplay, leaving no room for BDS to mount a comeback.
In the first game, BDS opted for an aggressive draft with champions like Volibear, Lee Sin, and Blitzcrank. Despite their early pick attempts, Dplus KIA quickly adapted and countered their strategies flawlessly. Canyon and his team took control of the game, securing a victory in under 26 minutes.
In the second game, Canyon showcased his prowess on Lee Sin, demonstrating the skill of Korean junglers. He secured two early kills and completely shut down Sheo in the jungle. With this advantage, Dplus KIA snowballed their lead and emerged victorious in just 24 minutes with only eight kills.
With this win, Dplus KIA advances to the 1-2 bracket, while Team BDS joins Liquid in exiting the tournament. Liquid was also eliminated on October 23 by GAM Esports.
The fourth round of the Worlds 2023 Swiss stage will resume on October 26.
