Persona fans have reason to celebrate as Sega’s COO, Shuji Utsumi, has confirmed that the beloved franchise will be receiving a brand new title in 2024. Not only that, but there are also plans for a potential movie adaptation.
In an interview with CNBC, Utsumi revealed that two titles are scheduled for release in 2024, one of which is an unannounced Persona game. This news comes alongside the already highly anticipated releases of Persona 3 Reload and the Persona-inspired title Metaphor: ReFantazio. With these additions, Atlus is set to have one of its busiest periods in its long history.
Sega is also exploring various opportunities for the Persona series, including crossovers with other games, mobile spinoffs, and movies. Following the success of the Sonic movies, Sega aims to replicate that triumph with Persona. While no specific details about upcoming movies were disclosed, the interview highlighted the success of Sonic’s collaboration with Roblox, which Sega hopes to recreate with Persona in some form.
Fans can look forward to an exciting future for the Persona franchise, with new games and potentially a movie on the horizon. Stay tuned for more updates and announcements as we eagerly await what’s to come in 2024.
