NRG Esports’ support player, IgNar, is set to make a move overseas for the 2024 season, joining Excel Esports in the LEC. This comes after a successful year for IgNar, where he helped NRG Esports secure the LCS Summer Split title and reach the quarterfinals of Worlds. Known for his experience and versatility, IgNar has been a consistent presence in the League of Legends scene.
IgNar has built a reputation as a journeyman, never staying with a team for more than one season. He has played for five teams in the past four seasons, making his mark in both the LCS and LEC. His standout performance came in 2017 with Misfits Gaming, where he reached the quarterfinals of Worlds and nearly upset SK Telecom T1.
Excel Esports considered other support players, such as Hylissang and Trymbi, but ultimately chose IgNar for the starting support role. He will join a roster that includes top laner Odoamne, AD carry Patrik, and mid laner Jackies.
The global contract database states that player contracts will expire on November 21, 2023, officially opening the free agency window for this offseason. Exciting times lie ahead as teams make moves to strengthen their rosters for the upcoming season.
