Impact Rumored to Rejoin Team Liquid for 2024 LCS Season

Derek Morgan

One of North America’s greatest League of Legends players may be making a comeback with a top organization in pursuit of the LCS championship.

According to reports from esports journalist Brieuc Seeger, veteran top laner Impact is set to join Team Liquid for the 2024 season. If this move goes through, he will replace current top laner Summit, whose contract expires in November.

Impact previously played for Liquid in 2018 before spending two years with Evil Geniuses and one year with FlyQuest. Despite being part of talented rosters featuring players like Inspired, Jojopyun, Spica, Vulcan, Prince, and retired AD carry phenom Danny, Impact only managed to win a single LCS championship during his time away from Liquid.

During his previous stint with Liquid, the 28-year-old top laner experienced several successful seasons, including four consecutive LCS championships between 2018 and 2019, a finals appearance at the 2019 Mid-Season Invitational, and four All-Pro nominations.

Impact’s potential return is just one of the decisions that Liquid will need to make this offseason, as two other key members have expiring contracts. Star support CoreJJ and jungler Pyosik are also set to enter free agency, making them prime targets for other teams. To retain their services for 2024, Liquid will need to start planning now to avoid scrambling for players during the free agency period.

Overall, Liquid faces an important offseason with crucial roster decisions to secure their chances of success in the upcoming LCS season.
