On November 20th, the game reached a peak player count of 105,476, joining the exclusive club of titles with six-figure player numbers. This achievement is particularly noteworthy considering that only nine other games managed to accomplish this feat on the same day, including popular titles like CS2, Dota 2, PUBG, Baldur’s Gate 3, and GTA V, according to SteamDB. Lethal Company even outperformed well-known games such as Rust, Lost Ark, and Team Fortress 2.
The rapid growth of Lethal Company can be attributed to its popularity among content creators and the thrilling experience it offers when playing with friends. Similar to the success of Among Us, the game has gained traction as more players discover it through their favorite streamers and YouTube creators.
In this cooperative horror game, players team up with friends to scavenge the surface of moons, completing tasks and collecting scrap to sell. However, the game offers much more than simple objectives, as players are likely to encounter terrifying moments along the way.
It remains to be seen if Lethal Company can reach the astounding peak player count of 447,000 achieved by Among Us during its peak in 2020. Nevertheless, surpassing 100,000 players in less than a month is a remarkable accomplishment, and the developers can undoubtedly be proud of their success.
