NAVI Faces Setback as s1mple Misses CS2 Tournament

superadmin

If you’re a NAVI fan, the start of the CS2 era couldn’t have gone much worse in terms of results. However, when considering external factors, everything still seems fine. One of CS:GO’s greatest players, s1mple, was unable to participate in the tournament due to issues with his European residency papers. As a result, NAVI had to rely on coach B1ad3 as a stand-in, but they managed to put up a good fight against FaZe Clan in the elimination match on Oct. 17.

The first map of the series, Overpass, didn’t go well for NAVI. FaZe Clan secured a 13-7 victory, appearing poised to easily win the lower bracket matchup. The next map was Mirage, known for its focus on individual skill and gunfights. Without s1mple, NAVI faced a significant disadvantage against FaZe Clan’s talented roster.

However, NAVI surprised everyone by winning Mirage in an impressive fashion. They dominated the T side with a 10-2 score, thanks to outstanding performances from b1t. NAVI secured a 13-4 victory on Mirage but unfortunately lost the decider map, Inferno, with a score of 13-7. Unlike Mirage, NAVI struggled to find their footing on the T side of Inferno, only managing to win three rounds compared to FaZe Clan’s nine. The deficit proved insurmountable.

It’s a peculiar situation when you consider all the circumstances and realize that the losing team actually looked better. Despite missing their star player, NAVI’s strong T side on Mirage gives them a significant moral victory. They will enter the rest of the CS2 calendar with some momentum, while FaZe Clan will aim to regain their form throughout the tournament.
