Exciting news for Magic: The Gathering fans! Wizards of the Coast is releasing a new set of digital-only cards for MTG Arena on October 10th. These cards, called Alchemy Wilds of Eldraine, will introduce 30 new cards with themes from the Wilds of Eldraine expansion. Players will have the chance to collect these new cards and test them out in the game through a limited-time event called Premier Draft Wilds of Eldraine Alchemy, running from October 10th to 16th.
In addition to the Alchemy drop, MTG Arena will also feature Secret Lair Princess Bride and The Evil Dead card sleeves in the shop throughout the month of October. And for those who prefer the Standard format, there will be Arena Qualifier Play-In and Qualifier Weekend tournaments to look forward to.
Alchemy MTG Arena Eldraine Nerfs
As part of the Alchemy Eldraine update, two powerful cards from the Lord of the Rings: Tales of Middle-earth set have been nerfed in MTG Arena. The Orc Archer Orcish Bowmasters will no longer have its enter-the-battlefield trigger in the Alchemy format, although it will still retain its Flash ability. The trigger will now only occur when an opponent draws a card that isn’t the first one drawn that turn. The One Ring, a Legendary Artifact, has also been adjusted. Adding a Burden counter to The One Ring now requires one mana of any color and tapping the artifact. No other changes have been made to The One Ring.
New MTG Arena Alchemy Eldraine Cards
Alongside the Alchemy update, 30 new digital-only cards will be added to the Alchemy format on October 10th. These cards, inspired by the Wilds of Eldraine expansion, offer exciting new possibilities for players. Some notable additions include Talion’s Throneguard, a Faerie Wizard with Flash and Bargain abilities, and Cerise, Slayer of Fear, a White human knight with First Strike and Lifelink. Other cards provide support for specific creature types, such as a Legendary dog with Haste and support for Dragons. Dimir Faeries and Rogues also receive additional support through High Fae Prankster. And for those who enjoy Aggro and Stompy strategies, there’s a feisty rabbit and a steady tortoise Adventure card to consider.
Players can explore and compete with these new Alchemy Eldraine cards in MTG Arena starting from October 10th. Don’t miss out on the chance to discover new strategies and add powerful cards to your collection!
