Pokémon TCG is set to release a fresh batch of reverse holo cards in its upcoming Japanese expansion set, Shiny Treasure ex. These new cards will feature a dazzling, almost Terastallizing effect, inspired by the popular Tera-type theme seen in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet and the SV TCG expansion sets. The reverse holo cards will have a sparkly finish, with only the frame and card itself being holographic while the main picture remains untouched. It is expected that these unique reverse holo cards will only be available in this special set.
Shiny Treasure ex marks the final TCG expansion for the Japanese market in 2023 and serves as a celebration of the first anniversary of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. The set will showcase stunning shiny variants of existing cards, along with exclusive illustration rare cards created specifically for this release. While this may be the last set to feature shiny Pokémon, it is likely that future sets will continue to introduce more shiny cards based on the Paldean Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet.
Although not officially announced, it is anticipated that the reverse holo cards will also be included in the English TCG set Paldean Fates, scheduled for release on January 26. The current cards revealed for Paldean Fates closely resemble their Japanese counterparts, raising hopes that fans outside of Japan will also have the opportunity to acquire these captivating new shiny collectibles.
