NiKo’s Insane Trick Shot Breaks the Match Wide Open at IEM Sydney

Tim Price

In a thrilling match at IEM Sydney on October 17th, NiKo pulled off an unbelievable trick shot that completely changed the game against Complexity. The play unfolded when Complexity’s Grim attempted to stop the push with a smoke grenade, but unfortunately, his FAMAS failed him, allowing NiKo to seize the opportunity and deliver what could be considered the best no-scope of IEM Sydney so far. This incredible shot not only showcased NiKo’s exceptional skills but also highlighted his versatility as a player who rarely uses the AWP sniper rifle.

NiKo’s performance in the match started off slow, with just one kill to his name before this pivotal round. However, he finished with an impressive K/D ratio of 17-11, helping G2 secure a 2-0 victory and a 13-7 win on the map. It’s worth noting that NiKo is widely regarded as one of the best riflers in the world, making his AWP prowess even more remarkable.

This triumph propels G2 into the upper bracket final in Group B, where they will face off against ENCE. Meanwhile, Complexity finds themselves in the lower bracket, preparing to take on a revamped Cloud9 roster. G2 has already proven their mettle by winning several events, including IEM Cologne and IEM Katowice, but the elusive Major title still eludes NiKo. Despite finishing as the runner-up in two Majors, namely the PGL Stockholm Major in 2021 and the ELEAGUE Boston Major in 2018, NiKo is often regarded as the best player to have never won a Major in CS:GO.
