OG, the two-time TI-winning organization, has expanded its roster for the 2024 Dota 2 season by recruiting Wisper from Evil Geniuses and Ari from TSM. With Sébastien “Ceb” Debs remaining as the team’s leader, OG aims to start the new year with a bang.
In the past year, OG faced challenges in stabilizing their roster due to visa issues and personal struggles. However, they managed to gather a final lineup for the TI 2023 qualifiers, only to be eliminated by PSG.Quest. Despite missing TI, OG received an invitation to ESL One Kuala Lumpur 2023’s closed qualifiers alongside Team Liquid.
Wisper, known as one of the best offlaners in South America, brings his expertise from competing with beastcoast and Evil Geniuses. The offlane position has become increasingly impactful in Dota 2, leading to a rise in the market value of skilled offlaners. OG has paired Wisper with Ari, a talented British support player who spent the previous competitive year with TSM in North America.
While many expected OG to also recruit a new position five player, Ceb decided to continue with the team for another year, despite previously stating that DreamLeague would be his last ride with OG Dota 2 in Summer 2023.
To prepare for the upcoming qualifiers, the new OG roster is currently based at N0tail’s Sunflower House in Lisbon. The team is focused on practicing, development, and building strong bonds. Unlike previous years, the OG youngsters will have the experienced Ceb as their leader from the beginning, both in matches and outside of Dota 2.
With Ceb’s involvement from the start, OG hopes to find their winning formula after a season filled with inconsistency. Having won two Aegises in the past, Ceb’s leadership could be the key to OG’s success in the upcoming season.
