This new map follows the introduction of two maps and a new game mode called Flashpoint in the previous season. Although Samoa is a control map, it is not designed specifically for the Flashpoint mode.
Samoa, an independent oceanic state located between Australia and the Americas, may hold clues about the game’s upcoming hero. Season eight will introduce a new tank hero, and many speculate that it could be the Talon Heavy Assault character, Mauga. Given Mauga’s Samoan name, Blizzard might use the Samoa map as an opportunity to tease his arrival in the game.
