Modern Warfare 3 players are facing a new issue as entire lobbies are being forcefully pulled into MW Zombies story missions, even if they don’t want to play them. This bug allows any player who has completed Act One of the Zombies mode to access story missions on the open map and pull the entire lobby into them without consent.
Players are expressing their frustration with the developers over what appears to be a bug in the way Zombies’ story missions function. It is unclear whether this is an oversight or intentional, but it is causing significant disruptions for players.
A video shared by a player shows them being unexpectedly pulled into a story-mode mission while they were busy with other zombie tasks. Initially, it seemed like only squad members could be pulled into these missions, but it turns out that the issue is much more widespread.
Any player who randomly accesses a story mode mission on the open map can disrupt the entire lobby. Solo players are particularly affected as they are thrown into separate instances, preventing them from teaming up with others.
Another player, who was playing solo, found themselves being dragged into the “Save Jansen” mission they had already completed the day before. They expressed their disappointment with the quality assurance of Activision, the game’s publisher.
Sledgehammer Games, the developers of MW3, have acknowledged the issue on their Trello board, where they track known bugs and assign priority levels. According to their statement, players who are eligible for a story mission but do not participate in the exfiltration process will be automatically queued into the story if another squad initiates it.
It is reassuring to know that the developers are actively working to address this problem, which can be game-breaking for some players. Losing progress and valuable loot due to being forcefully pulled out of a game is certainly frustrating.
Hopefully, the developers will fix this issue along with the numerous other bugs that have been plaguing Modern Warfare 3.
