Pluto Regains Its Planetary Status in Bethesda’s Starfield

superadmin

In the highly anticipated game Starfield, Bethesda has boldly declared Pluto as a planet, reigniting the age-old debate. While some may argue against its planetary status, Bethesda has embraced the traditional view and incorporated Pluto as a planet in their virtual solar system.

Prior to 2006, Pluto was recognized as one of the nine planets in our solar system. However, the International Astronomical Union controversially downgraded it due to not meeting their specific criteria. This decision led to the classification of Pluto and numerous other celestial bodies as dwarf planets.

Despite this official classification, many people still consider Pluto a planet, and Bethesda has joined their ranks by labeling it as such in Starfield. Players have expressed their delight at this inclusion, emphasizing that size should not determine planetary status.

While Bethesda’s decision may please some, others are working on a mod that will accurately classify Pluto as a dwarf planet, aligning with its current designation. Regardless of personal opinions, Bethesda’s stance on Pluto’s planetary status is now clear.
