Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC Receives Criticism for “Trash” Collecting Feature

superadmin

Players of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s latest DLC, The Teal Mask, have expressed their disappointment with a particular aspect of the game. While performance issues continue to plague the release, it is not the main concern for players this time.

The Kitakami region in the DLC is filled with random items scattered across the ground, represented by sparkly dots. These items entice players to collect them in hopes of obtaining valuable rewards. However, players have found that these items are mostly useless, especially for those who have already completed the base game and no longer require basic items. Additionally, they often consist of Pokémon materials used for crafting TMs, which most players already possess in abundance.

One Reddit user humorously referred to The Teal Mask DLC as a “trash collector simulator,” highlighting the overwhelming number of items littered throughout the map. They jokingly labeled the people of the Kitakami region as “slobs.”

Interestingly, this feature reflects the real world, where litter is a common sight in many places. However, unlike in Pokémon, the litter does not shine and glimmer, falsely suggesting importance.

Furthermore, another observant player noticed a notice in the community center stating that rental rates were being increased. These small details from the real world creeping into the Pokémon universe make one question whether living in the Pokémon world would truly provide the desired escape from reality.

However, there is still the allure of acquiring a Sandslash, which adds a touch of excitement to the otherwise disappointing aspects of the game.
