Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC: Some Fans Remain Skeptical

Xavier Ward

New gameplay footage for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet The Indigo Disk DLC was recently released, but not all players are convinced about its upcoming release. Despite the promise of a continued story, returning Pokémon, and new additions, some fans are still underwhelmed and skeptical.

One major concern is the lingering performance issues that have plagued Pokémon Scarlet and Violet since their initial release one year ago. Despite promises from Game Freak to address these issues, players are doubtful that they will ever be fully resolved, even with the new DLC.

In addition to performance concerns, some fans are also critical of the marketing for the DLC. While the return of all Starter Pokémon may be nostalgic, players are looking for something new and exciting to get them truly hyped. The mysterious 19th Tera Type, teased during the 2023 World Championships, could generate more interest and anticipation if further details were revealed.

However, there are still optimistic fans who are excited about certain aspects of the DLC. One notable improvement is the ability for Koraidon and Miraidon to fly freely in the air, as seen in the Flying Time Trial mini-game. This quality-of-life upgrade has been well-received by players. Additionally, the inclusion of more double battles and higher-leveled Pokémon in the Blueberry Elite Four has piqued the interest of those seeking a greater challenge.

The release of The Indigo Disk DLC is scheduled for December 14th, when players will finally have the opportunity to explore Blueberry Academy and experience all that the DLC has to offer.
