PSG.LGD Ends Partnership with PSG, Reverts to LGD Gaming

superadmin

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and LGD Gaming have decided to part ways after a successful partnership in Dota 2. PSG.LGD, the team formed through this collaboration, achieved remarkable results, consistently placing in the top three at The International (TI) tournaments. However, their partnership has now expired, leading to a change in the team’s name.

Moving forward, LGD Gaming will compete under their original name, bidding farewell to the PSG.LGD brand. This decision marks a return to LGD’s roots and their iconic red-text-only logo, which holds sentimental value for Dota 2 fans.

While LGD Gaming reestablishes its identity, the future involvement of PSG in the Dota 2 scene remains uncertain. PSG has been actively involved in other esports titles, such as League of Legends, and has sponsored teams in Dota 2 as well. Talon Esports, Tundra Esports, and Quest Esports are potential candidates for a new partnership with PSG, as they have qualified for The International 2023 and already have an existing relationship with the club.

However, PSG may also choose to reduce its investments in esports due to recent financial struggles. The club has even considered selling its star soccer player, Kylian Mbappé, to alleviate its financial burden.

Despite not yet securing the coveted Aegis of Champions, LGD Gaming has established itself as one of the oldest and most consistent organizations in Dota 2. Their legacy is defined by their unwavering performance and numerous top placements throughout the years. While they may lack first-place trophies, their level of consistency compensates for this.

In conclusion, PSG and LGD Gaming have concluded their partnership, resulting in LGD Gaming competing under their original name. The future involvement of PSG in Dota 2 remains uncertain, but the team’s success has opened doors for potential partnerships with other organizations. LGD Gaming, on the other hand, continues to build upon their rich history in the game, aiming to secure the ultimate prize in the near future.
