Rainbow Six: Siege Player Aceez Banned for Impeding Cheating Investigation

Derek Morgan

German Rainbow Six: Siege player Maurice “Aceez” Erkelenz, who plays for Wylde, has been banned for over a year for obstructing a BLAST investigation into alleged cheating. The ban will last until the end of the 2024 season, which concludes after the Six Invitational 2025. This prestigious event takes place every February.

It is important to note that Aceez’s ban is not for cheating itself, but for impeding the investigation into the cheating allegations. However, many prominent members of the Rainbow Six: Siege competitive community strongly believe that Aceez is guilty of both charges.

Aceez’s ban has caused little surprise among professionals in the Rainbow Six: Siege scene, as they have long suspected his involvement in cheating. While the ban is for obstructing the investigation, the community remains skeptical about his integrity and believes he may have cheated as well.

Aceez has been removed from Wylde’s roster and has deleted his X account. This is not the first time he has faced disciplinary action. In 2020, when he played for Rogue, he received a three-game ban for sharing insider information with an external source, which was considered close to match-fixing. Ubisoft’s report at the time highlighted Aceez’s lack of professionalism and maturity, rather than concluding that he had fixed the match.

The cheating accusation is much more serious, and even if it is not proven, it has further damaged Aceez’s reputation. The European Rainbow Six: Siege scene is highly doubtful of his innocence and was not surprised by the investigation. After serving his ban, it is unlikely that any serious team will be willing to take a chance on him, considering his alleged cheating and a history of immature and rule-breaking behavior.

In conclusion, it seems that Aceez’s professional career in Rainbow Six: Siege has come to an end. The combination of cheating allegations, lack of professionalism, and a pattern of rule-breaking make it highly unlikely for him to find a team willing to give him another opportunity. Regardless of his skill level, being a serious professional is a non-negotiable requirement in the competitive scene.
