Respawn Teases Possible Return of Titanfall Series

superadmin

Apex Legends fans are left intrigued by a cryptic teaser from Respawn Entertainment, hinting at the potential revival of the beloved Titanfall series. The community has been eagerly awaiting news about the franchise, and this mysterious message has sparked excitement and speculation.

In a recent patch notes update, a puzzling transmission from “Subject: Nessie” was included at the end. It consisted of three sets of numbers that seemed unrelated to Apex or any official information. However, one astute fan managed to crack the code and decipher its meaning.

Alex “coldjyn” Nicholls, coach for JLINGZ Esports, discovered that the numbers corresponded to significant dates in the Titanfall universe. Each set represented the release dates of the games in the series: Titanfall on March 11, 2014, Titanfall 2 on October 28, 2016, and Apex Legends on February 4, 2019.

This revelation has left both Apex and Titanfall communities puzzled. Previously, it was believed that there would be no continuation of the trilogy, as Respawn developers had confirmed the cancellation of Titanfall 3. The studio had shifted its focus entirely to Apex Legends, disappointing long-time fans.

Former narrative lead designer at Respawn, Mohammad Alavi, had explained that the rise of battle royale games like PUBG led to the decision to halt Titanfall 3 development. Instead, the studio secretly worked on Apex Legends for six months before surprising the world with its sudden release on February 9, 2019.

Despite the absence of a new installment, Titanfall 2 continues to maintain a dedicated player base, with over 10,000 concurrent players on Steam. Respawn even released an update for the game recently, addressing issues such as DDoS attacks and disconnections.

Apex Legends owes its existence to the Titanfall universe, and fans have been longing for a return to the series’ original arena shooter format. Respawn’s cryptic teaser is the most significant acknowledgment the franchise has received in a long time, raising hopes for a potential revival and a renewed focus on the Titanfall series.
