After years of anticipation, the conflict between Revenant and Loba in Apex Legends may finally reach its climax. The latest Kill Code short, titled “A Life for a Life,” hints at an upcoming finale that will see these two characters face off. Set immediately after the disastrous heist attempt in Kill Code part three, the one-minute cinematic sets the stage for a showdown between Revenant and Loba, with the fourth part of Kill Code set to release on Nov. 27.
In the short, Revenant’s head is back in the hands of the Syndicate, Loba and Valkyrie’s relationship appears to be strained after their standoff, and the team of legends is divided. Revenant seizes this opportunity to confront Loba once again, hoping to convince her to end his torment. Surprisingly, Loba seems determined to put an end to it, declaring “let’s finish this.”
This development is significant for two reasons. Firstly, since discovering Revenant’s true nature, Loba has been fixated on denying him the one thing he desires: death. This obsession has had a detrimental impact on her own life, as seen in quests like Friends Like These. In this quest, Valkyrie secretly aligns herself with Revenant to destroy his head, leading to a breaking point in her relationship with Loba.
Secondly, if they succeed in their mission, Revenant will die. This would mark the first canonical death of a legend in Apex Legends’ history and pose a new challenge for the battle royale game moving forward. How will the live service story continue without a character who receives regular updates and cosmetics?
However, there is still a possibility that this resolution may not come to fruition. Loba could be deceiving Revenant, or they may discover an alternative solution in the next Kill Code cinematic that eliminates the need to kill him. The full extent of Silva’s plans remains unknown, and there may be more revelations awaiting our Legends in the upcoming release.
The fourth part of Apex Legends’ Kill Code will be released on Nov. 27.
