League of Legends’ newest champion, Briar, is off to a rocky start on Summoner’s Rift. Her win rate since her release on Sept. 13 has been abysmal, prompting Riot Games to quickly roll out an emergency update to improve her resilience.
When new champions are introduced in League, they either dominate the Rift or struggle to find success. Unfortunately for Briar, the restrained hungry jungler, she falls into the latter category. Her poor performance has led to the urgent need for a buff.
To address this issue, Riot Games has implemented a hotfix buff for Briar. The goal is to make her more durable while players become familiar with her abilities and optimal builds. August Browning, the lead champion designer for Briar at Riot, assures players that these buffs are not drastic but should provide a better experience with the champion.
So, what exactly has been improved? Briar’s health has been increased, her E ability now offers higher damage reduction, and the cooldown for her E has been slightly reduced.
It remains to be seen how these changes will impact her win rates. Only time will tell as more players take Briar onto the Rift and gain a better understanding of her kit.
However, it’s important to note that Briar is not on the same level as Naafiri, who debuted as a dominant force on the Rift and continues to excel.
