Natus Vincere’s star player, S1mple, has decided to take an indefinite break from competitive CS:GO, leaving a void in the team. In his absence, the young talent, w0nderful, has been given the opportunity to prove himself at the highest level of play. While it’s clear that w0nderful is not a replica of S1mple, Justinas “jL” Lekavicius believes that the 18-year-old has the potential to evolve into a great player.
During an interview with HLTV, jL acknowledged that w0nderful has a different playstyle compared to S1mple. He emphasized that S1mple’s understanding of the game is unique and cannot be replicated. However, jL also expressed confidence in w0nderful’s abilities and his potential to overcome challenges and become a top player.
Despite the roster change being confirmed at the end of October, NAVI has chosen not to participate in any CS:GO matches until the upcoming BLAST Premier Fall Final. This decision means that w0nderful will face a tough test right from the start, as the tournament will feature the best teams in the world, including the top-ranked FaZe Clan.
On November 22, when w0nderful makes his debut against Cloud9, it will mark the first time in almost four years that NAVI will play without S1mple as their primary AWPer. S1mple had held this role since December 2019, with only a few exceptions. The BLAST Premier Fall Final will serve as a baptism by fire for w0nderful, as he steps into the shoes of a CS:GO legend.
