Sentinels Confirms TenZ’s Contract Extension for 2024

superadmin

Sentinels, one of the biggest names in VALORANT, has announced that their star player Tyson “TenZ” Ngo will be staying with the team for another VCT season. This comes as a surprise since TenZ was originally signed only until the end of the 2023 season, unlike the rest of the core roster.

The announcement was made through a tweet from Sentinels on September 8. The tweet stated that TenZ is here to stay, although the accompanying video does not explicitly confirm his contract extension for 2024. However, the VALORANT Competitive community and the responses to the tweet seem to be taking it as confirmation.

The announcement video features Sentinels content creator Tarik “tarik” Çelik pitching a business idea to a panel of judges from “Shark Tank.” Initially, the judges reject tarik’s proposal for the Sentinels organization. But when TenZ makes an appearance, the judges quickly change their tune and invest in Sentinels, or rather, invest in TenZ.

TenZ is widely regarded as one of the most mechanically skilled players in VALORANT and remains a top name in the scene. Despite Sentinels’ disappointing 2023 VCT season, TenZ’s value to the team is undeniable. The video skit seems to playfully acknowledge Sentinels’ recent financial struggles while highlighting TenZ as a valuable asset.

Sentinels’ last international appearance was in January at the opening LOCK//IN tournament in São Paulo, Brazil. Since then, they have failed to qualify for both Masters Tokyo and Champions in Los Angeles. However, TenZ attended the finals as a spectator and even made an appearance on the broadcast.

So far, there have been no other roster moves announced by Sentinels. Another notable player, Jimmy “Marved” Nguyen, whose contract expires this year, may also be subject to changes.

As the VALORANT Champions Tour’s off-season progresses, teams around the world will be making roster changes and reworking their lineups in preparation for the launch of the new season in February 2024.
