Team Liquid has decided to part ways with Josh “oSee” Ohm, signaling a major overhaul of their Counter-Strike 2 lineup. This move follows the recent removal of Patsi, Rainwaker, and daps from the TL squad. While oSee’s next destination remains unknown, he is currently benched by TL.
oSee joined Team Liquid in 2021 after transitioning from Extra Salt. Although he helped the team achieve multiple top-four finishes, they were unable to secure any championships during his time with the organization. Prior to joining TL, oSee had a successful stint with Extra Salt, particularly under the leadership of Johnny “JT” Theodosiou. Despite not replicating his statistical success on Liquid, oSee consistently reached finals and playoffs throughout his two-year tenure.
With oSee’s departure, Team Liquid now has ample time to rebuild their CS2 roster. It is likely that the organization will aim to finalize their lineup before the PGL CS2 Major Copenhagen 2024 Americas RMR, scheduled for March next year. Given the numerous roster changes, it would be in TL’s best interest to regroup before the Major qualifiers for a better chance at success.
Rumors circulating in the CS2 scene suggest that TL’s next move involves announcing new and returning Brazilian members, as well as the arrival of cadiaN. If these rumors prove true, skullz and zews will be the next additions to the TL lineup for 2024. This recent departure on November 21 may also fuel speculation about cadiaN taking over the Team Liquid CS2 roster.
As for oSee’s future, NRG’s return to CS2 could be an opportune moment. NRG plans to reenter the CS2 scene with a completely new lineup, and oSee’s skills as an AWPer make him a potential fit for their roster. We will have to wait for TL and NRG to announce their 2024 lineups to see where oSee ends up.
