Team Vitality Signs Sayf as New VALORANT Superstar

Xavier Ward

After a challenging year, Team Vitality has revamped its VALORANT roster for the upcoming 2024 VCT season by adding a major superstar duelist.

Saif “Sayf” Jibraeel, formerly of Team Liquid, has joined Team Vitality on a two-year deal, according to the Global Contract Database. This completes Vitality’s roster overhaul, which also includes the recent signings of Kimmie “Kicks” Laasner and Emil “runneR” Trajkovski. Sayf will join Jokūbas “ceNder” Labutis and Tomas “Destrian” Linikas, the two remaining members from last year’s team. Salah Barakat will continue to coach the Vitality VALORANT roster. While Sayf and Kicks are signed through 2025, the rest of the roster is signed through 2024.

Vitality’s VALORANT team aims to bounce back from a challenging season that saw them miss out on Champions or Masters through the EMEA playoffs. The team also faced the tragic loss of Karel “Twisten” Ašenbrener, who passed away at the age of 19 in June. Devastated by the loss, Vitality chose to end their season early and withdraw from the LCQ.

However, the addition of Sayf to the roster brings hope for a successful turnaround in 2024. Sayf was one of the top-rated players in the EMEA VCT 2023 season, ranking second in overall player rating, ACS, and K/D, according to VLR. He also ranked in the top five for first kills per round.

By signing Sayf, Team Vitality has secured a talented and experienced player who brings firepower to their roster. With the new lineup in place, the team is determined to make a strong comeback in the upcoming season.
