The release date for Ubisoft’s highly anticipated first-person shooter, XDefiant, is in doubt as the developers have remained quiet since the last beta test in June. Despite promises of a “late summer” release, executive producer Mark Rubin’s recent tweet has done little to alleviate concerns.
Rubin acknowledged the lack of communication and apologized, explaining that the team is currently in the process of submitting XDefiant for release and addressing any last-minute bugs. He emphasized the importance of getting these steps right for a new IP.
With September just around the corner, players were expecting the game to launch within the next few weeks. However, it is now unclear when XDefiant will be available on consoles and PCs.
Rubin expressed gratitude for the excitement surrounding the game and shared the frustration of eager fans. He reminded everyone that game development is not all fun and games, but assured them that progress is being made every day to bring XDefiant to players as soon as it’s ready.
