Valve Ends Support for Counter-Strike 2 on MacOS

Xavier Ward

Valve has made the decision to discontinue support for Counter-Strike 2 on MacOS, leaving MacOS users without access to the game. This move comes as Counter-Strike enters its next phase and the developers focus on DirectX 9, 32-bit operating systems, and Macs.

However, Valve is offering refunds to those who have purchased Prime Status in the Source 2 update. Players who bought Counter-Strike: Global Offensive or CS2 between March 22 and September 27 on dated setups can claim a refund until December 1.

While CS2 will no longer receive updates, a legacy version of CS:GO will be available for players who still want to play. However, support for CS:GO servers will end on January 1.

Valve has been actively updating CS2 since its release, with seven updates already implemented since September 27. The latest update addresses hitbox issues, ensuring a fair gameplay experience.
