WoW Dragonflight Patch 10.1.7: Winners and Losers

Alts: The Big Winners

Patch 10.1.7 brings good news for players with neglected alts. The Dreamsurge events offer catch-up gear, allowing alts to quickly level up. Additionally, the release of the Dawn of the Infinite dungeon on Heroic difficulty provides an opportunity to obtain high-level Veteran gear. Alts can now easily reach a competitive level.

Collectors: A Treasure Trove

For collectors, this patch is a dream come true. Numerous long-lost items that disappeared after Cataclysm are making a return. Items like Elemental Attuned Blade, Walking Boots, Blackened Defias Boots, and Spider Web Robe will once again be obtainable. Furthermore, the Dawn of the Infinite megadungeon offers a plethora of new appearances to collect. And let’s not forget the Quantum Courser mount, with its rare drop rate and ability to transform into past mounts.

Mistweaver Monks: Healing Rejuvenation

Mistweaver Monks have reason to celebrate as they receive much-needed improvements. After being one of the weakest healers for a long time, Mistweaver Monks finally get some tweaks to make their gameplay more enjoyable. The Mana Tea ability has been enhanced, providing better mana regeneration. Critical strike procs now grant extra stacks of Mana Tea, ensuring Monks can keep their mana levels up. Additionally, the new talent, Energizing Brew, increases the speed of Mana Tea channeling and generates more mana. These changes shift Mistweaver Monks towards a caster build, offering a fresh playstyle.

Priest: A Setback for Holy

Unfortunately, Holy Priests are the only spec that didn’t fare well in this patch. The Angel’s Mercy ability has been redesigned, resulting in a nerf to their survivability. Previously, this ability reduced the cooldown of Desperate Prayer based on damage taken. Now, it only reduces the cooldown by a fixed amount. This change negatively impacts Holy Priests in both PvE and PvP scenarios.

Trolls and Bullies: No More Harassment

In a welcome move, Patch 10.1.7 introduces real-time chat moderation to combat harassment. Players who are not on your friends list can no longer send harassing whispers. These messages will be hidden, but you can still see the original content and report the player immediately. This change aims to create a more positive and respectful gaming environment.
