G2 Esports support Mikyx has finally claimed his first MVP title in the LEC, marking a well-deserved achievement for his consistent performance throughout his career. After years of being one of the top players in the European circuit, Mikyx can now proudly showcase his personal hardware.
Mikyx has consistently proven himself as a dependable player, regardless of the team he plays for. Despite a slightly underwhelming season with Excel Esports in 2022, he made a strong comeback with G2 this year, earning All-Pro honors in all three splits of the LEC, including first-team certification in two of them. With these accolades, Mikyx now boasts a total of 12 All-Pro selections, just behind Caps and Jankos for the most in LEC history.
This summer, Mikyx has been on fire. Since the start of the Summer Split, he ranks among the top three support players worldwide in KDA (5.5), assists per game (14.6), and kill participation (78.4 percent), according to LoL stats site Games of Legends. As the World Championship approaches, with G2 already securing their spot, Mikyx could potentially enter the tournament as the hottest player on the planet.
In the MVP voting, Mikyx emerged victorious with 64 points, closely followed by his G2 teammates Yike and Hans Sama, who earned 42 points each. Interestingly, out of the six players who received first-place votes, five of them were from G2. The only exception was Heretics jungler Jankos, which still feels a bit strange to say, even a year after his departure from G2.
The LEC season finals are currently underway, and G2 will face MAD Lions in the upper bracket final on Sunday, Sept. 3, as they strive to secure their spot in the grand final.
