Patch Two for Baldur’s Gate 3 Limits Weapon Poison Exploit

superadmin

Larian Studios released Patch Two for Baldur’s Gate 3 on August 31st, bringing several changes to the game. While many adjustments were made, one change that went unnoticed by many players was a limitation on the effectiveness of weapon poison.

Previously, players discovered a way to bypass using a bonus action in combat to coat their weapons with poison. By throwing the toxin on the ground instead, they could dip their weapons and gain the same effect without the buff wearing off after 10 turns. Additionally, the pool of poison would remain on the ground indefinitely.

Although the patch did not explicitly address this exploit, it appears that players can no longer continuously dip their weapons in the same pool of poison. After dipping two to four weapons, the pool of poison disappears. This means that players can no longer rely on a single vial of Purple Worm Toxin to last an entire act and will need to check vendors for more after resting.

Overall, Patch Two for Baldur’s Gate 3 has limited the ability to exploit weapon poison, ensuring a fairer gameplay experience for all players.
