FaZe Clan, led by karrigan, achieved a remarkable feat at IEM Sydney by becoming the first CS2 team to win a match 13-0 at a major tournament. Their dominant performance against ENCE on Anubis secured them a 2-0 series victory and a spot in the semifinals.
Despite not being considered favorites at IEM Sydney, FaZe Clan has already eliminated strong contenders like ENCE and Vitality. Their 13-0 triumph further solidifies their potential to win the title. What makes this achievement even more impressive is that Anubis was actually ENCE’s map choice, not FaZe Clan’s.
The team’s domination began on Nuke, the first map of the series. Although ENCE initially took a 3-0 lead, FaZe Clan quickly turned the tables and won 25 out of the next 27 rounds played across Nuke and Anubis.
This quarterfinal match at IEM Sydney was incredibly swift, with a total stream time of just one hour and 33 minutes. Excluding breaks and pauses, the actual game time was approximately 55 minutes for Nuke and Anubis combined.
Prior to this encounter, FaZe Clan had lost all three previous matches against ENCE in CS:GO. Therefore, their easy victory against Snappi’s side is quite remarkable and serves as a redemption for past defeats, as highlighted by Twistzz in the post-match interview.
Twistzz, the Canadian star player, stood out in terms of statistics, recording 32 kills and only 13 deaths across Nuke and Anubis. His performance on Anubis was particularly impressive, with 16 frags in the 13 rounds played.
The 13-0 victory against ENCE undoubtedly boosts FaZe Clan’s morale as they prepare to face MOUZ tomorrow, Oct. 21, for a chance to reach the grand finals of IEM Sydney.
