Modders Bring Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’s to Mortal Kombat 1

Xavier Ward

A month after the release of Mortal Kombat 1, modders have already started working on adding new characters to the game. One of the latest mods introduces Freddy Fazbear from the Five Nights at Freddy’s series. Although Freddy is only available as a Kameo fighter and not playable, fans are still excited to see him in action.

The mod, which was posted on Nexus Mods on Oct. 13, replaces Cyrax’s model with Freddy Fazbear. In a video showcasing the mod, Freddy swoops in, attacking opponents with electric saws and dropping bombs. Given Freddy’s origins in a horror game, these moves fit perfectly.

The community has been thrilled to see Freddy in Mortal Kombat and is eagerly anticipating more mods like this. In previous games, only modded skins for characters were supported, but now it’s possible to add entirely new models.

While fans may not be able to add completely custom characters to the game, there is still the opportunity to bring in a wide range of characters to Mortal Kombat 1.

This initial version of the mod does have a few issues, such as Freddy appearing too shiny and still having Cyrax’s cloth attached to him. However, the creator is aware of these problems and plans to release an updated version in the future.

In addition to the Freddy Fazbear mod, there is another fun mod available that gives Cyrax an Iron Man skin. Although saws may not be Iron Man’s style, the beam attack from Cyrax’s chest fits perfectly with the character.
